Move it on. All you need is paint. Eighties coir looking happy to be 2012.

Pass my sunnies please. Suddenly neon is everywhere. I took this snap of a tower of some neon markers in a stationery shop yesterday. It’s given me an idea for a wall. Nice nice nice.  I love how neons and acid colours pop against charcoal and black, like these yellow interior columns inside Woolworths head office in Cape Town. Originally the columns were covered in beige coir. Look how amazingly, with a coat of acid yellow, it gets fast tracked to 2012. With neon, the context is important. The surrounding walls are done in dark donkey grey, and the accents in furniture are natural bleached pine, with mushroom-like clusters of neon stools. The colours pop and crackle like space candy.

Love the idea of painting coir. I’m with the Mend & Make-do wartime wives on that.
