FOUR DAYS OF CHOCOLATE, WHITE AND BLUE

About the time when Christmas holidays become a memory in an iPhoto folder, something wonderful happens. The idea of checking out of dodge for a four day chocolate coated weekend.

I wonder where we can go for Easter?

Arniston would be nice. All that white sand and twinkly sea and crumbly old houses that look like they’re made of cottage cheese, with postage stamps for windows. Fishing boats and Old Brown sherry.

I took the picture of the beach below at Struisbaai, which isn’t far from Arniston as the crow flies. The houses at Struisbaai don’t have quite the same ah-gee factor as the houses in Arniston. But the beaches could easily win a beauty contest in Conde Nast Traveller.
